The club is deciding several of its championships. The H.M.S. Dunedin has on board a splendid water polo team, which has met with considerable success at several ol the niain ports in the Dominion, and at a carnival at Dunedin the team triumphed against particularly strong opposition. The'Gisborne team is in line form, and a keen game is looked for. Big fields have been drawn for the championship events, particularly in the 50yds. boys 1 championship, which will have to be divided into heats. Three heats will be necessary for the dual relay race for the Handricks Rose Bowl, the man swimming two lengths and the lady one length. There are several new lady swimmers, and their performances will be followed with much interest. Five teams have come forward for the schools’ relay championship, two being from Gisborne Central, and one each from To Hapara, Kniti, and Marist. This is- the first race for the cup donated bv Mr. D. MeKeague. The three Hawke’s Bay champions competing will be D. Lange and D. Leslie, who will be starting ill the junior boys’ races, and H. Holmes in the intermediate clAss. Miss N. Henderson will swim in handicap events. Particular interest is being taken in the meeting of Lange and Leslie in the 50yds. junior championship.
