Sailed, Totara, 9.30 a.m., for Dunedin. A plea for more support for British manufactures was made at to-day’s meeting of the Pb'vcrty Bay branch of the Farmers’ Union, 'i’lio president, Mr. J. F. Benson, reported having attended a t meeting of the Dominion executive, and said that me of the remits concerned preference for British goods. “My private opinion,” he said, “is that we should make it a personal matter. Don’t let us wait for the Government to suggest that we should buy British goods, or make us buy them.* Be loyal and buy everything British.”
