TEAM KILLING SYSTEM
HOMEBUSH ABATTOIRS (Received February 24, 1.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, Feb. 24. It is stated that as a result of the visit to New Zealand of the, Minister of Health, Mr. Weaver intends to recommend that Cabinet introduce the team killing system at Homebush abattoirs. Such a decision will involve an expenditure of £IOO,OOO oil alterations and reorganisation.
The union opposes the system, as it means speeding up the work and the slaughterman would lose the key position lie enjoys on the killing floor under the present system.
