MAN’S REMAINS FOUND

INCINERATED BY WOMAN N.S.W. MYSTERY SOLVED SYDNEY, Feb. 23. Charred remains, believed to be those of George Nott, the missing Pilliga stock and station agent, were discovered in the ashes of a burned out fire near a woolshcd on Bugilbone station, 12 miles from" Pilliga. ,A woman’s belt and portion of a windscreen deflector of a car were also found. The police seized a rifle which was found behind the woolshed. It is reported that a woman made a statement to the police to-day that she had a quarrel with Nott while sitting in the car and struck him with # a stone, killing him instantly. Afterwards she dragged his body from the car, built a fire and incinerated it. She then took the car to the river and sank it therein.

The police say that the woman later attempted to commit suicide and is now in hospital.
