VISIT OF GOODWILL
’ AUSTRALIAN MISSION TRADE WITH THE EAST j (British Official Wireless.) Rec. 2 p.m. RUGBY, Feb. 14. Replying to a House of Commons’ .question, Mr. A. Eden said the Govern meiit was informed! some time ago, by the Australian Government of the proposed visit of the Commonwealth deputy-Prime Minister, Mr. J. G. Lhtliam, to the Fair East. The visit was one‘of goodwill* and it was understood that Mr. Latham would visit the Netherlands, East Indies, Singapore, Hongkong, China, and; Japan. The British Government had promised assistance in connection with the tour, and, felt confident that it would serve a, valuable purpose in promoting closer relations in the countries to be visited
