Recent visitors to Wellington included Messrs. D. Bartram, D. S. Day, and J. M. Fraser, Tolaga Bay; Messrs. G. F. Winter and E. S. Povvdrell, Wairoa. Mr. C. Alma Baker, of the Federated Malay States, lias arrived at Auckland oii one of his periodical visits to Now Zealand, accompanied by Mrs. Baker. Baron E. De Clnyitaß an Italian nobleman, accompanied by D. Fprnoui, arrived at Auckland by tlio Maraina on a holiday visit! Mr. B. Irishman, a prominent West Australian, grazier, arrived in Wellington from Sydney by the Wunganella, and will visit the. Sounds and tour the North Island before returning home. Mr. T. P. Hanna, sub-inspector of ,the Bank of Australasia, who was recently in Gisborne, lias been temporarily attached to the head office of the bank at Wellington.
Mr. W. It. Lysaght and his brothes, Mr. H. R. Lysaght, of England, who have been visiting New Zealand at tho invitation of the Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, who is their neighbor in Gloucestershire, leave Wellington tomorrow for Sydney.
Two appointments in the Auckland provinca have been approved by the chief commissioner of the St. John Ambulance Brigade in New Zealand. The appointments are as follows: Epsom nursing division, Miss K. G. Haselden, woman divisional superintendent; Gisborne nursing division, Mrs. A. Lewis, woman divisional secretary.
Mr. C. N, Taylor, managing director of Moturon (N.Z.) Oil Fields, New Plymouth, is visiting Gisborne as Dominion representative of the Taranaki (N.Z.) Oil Fields, N.L., directorate, to keep in touch with, the investigations now being carried on by a party of American.geologists over tlie area coveted by that company’s leases.
