To those who remember the somewhat sombre appearance —both inside and out —formerly possessed by the Napier Municipal Baths, the. improvements recently carried out by the borough authorities are a decided pleasure, states the Telegraph. A further addition which lias now been effected is the provision ol splendid accommodation lor citizens and visitors desiring to use the Hot saltwatei baths, Among the articles transmitted throng] the post during last week’s Christmas lush were packets containing fancy boxes of matches, which gave the postii authorities a good deal of concern. Ai one post office in the Dunedin districi a package of fancy matches caught fin when being date-stamped. Actually matches are prohibited for transmissioi through the post owing to the danger 6 sudden ignition.
