Revival of gold prospecting in Alaska, with more miners on the creeks next spring than for many years, was predicted hero to-day by Mr, Jolm W. Troy, Governor of Alaska, as a result of the high price quoted by the United States •.Government for the glittering metal. Close to £100,000,000 in gold has been taken oiU of Alaska since it was bought, bv tho United States for £1,440,000.' It will he profitable for men to go back to claims they once abandoned because costs of production were too high, Mr. Troy' said. So Alaska is looking' forward.
