AUCKLAND MEETING KILTOWYN’S SUMMER CUT COPYIST WINS ELECTRIC. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, last night. There was a fair attendance for the second day of the Auckland RacingClub’s summer meeting at Ellerslie. Heavy showers fell in the afternoon, but the track was fair. The totalisator handled .€30,085, compared with £31,735 last year, a decrease of £165(1. The total for the two days is £99,300' against £94,257, an increase of £5043.

The winners of the Criterion and Electric Handicaps returned double figure dividends. Fergusson Handicap: 1-1 Ruri (L. J. Ellis) 1; 5-6 Limbohm (Goulsbro) 2; 11-11 My Money, carried 7.31 (N. R. McKenzie) 3; 9-10 Caliente 4. Also ran: 4-4 Dollar Prince, 7-7 United, 2-2 After Money, 8-8 Sunny Bachelor, 3-3 Holly Lu, 10-9 Courthaven, 6-5 King Mestor, 12-12 Supreme Ruler. Won by a neck, and three lengths. Time, 1,14 3-5.

King’s Plate: 3-3 Red Manfred (Voitre) 1; 2-2 Nightly (Russell) 2; 1-1 Croupier (R. Reed) 3, 4-4 Ammon Ra 4. Also ran: 5-5 Guarantee, 6-6 Spiral. Won by a neck, and three and a-half lengths. Time, 1.39. Ponsonby Hurdles: 1-1 Patutahi (D. J. Burgess) 1; 4-3 Carlarls (C. Thomson) 2; 4-4 Biform (J. McCrae) 3; 3-2 Billy Boy 4. Also ran: 8-8 Welcome Boy, 5-6 Mia Stella, 7-5 Zane Grey, 6-7 Kairuri, 9-9 Grant’s Opal. Patutahi and Wee Boy led over the first fence, where Grant’s Opal fell. Welcome Boy and Mia Stella fell at the third fence. Patutahi led by three lengths from Billy Boy and Carlaris into the straight, and in the run home Carlaris came up into second place with Biform third. Won by two and a-half lengths, and half a length. Time, 3.52 2-5.

Summer Cup: 4-4 Kiltowyn (Parsons) 1, 7-7 Shatter (Russell) 2; 1-1 Speedmint (Tinker) 3; 2-3 Master Norval 4. Also ran: 6-6 Cricket Bat, 3-2 I’rolyxO and Tavern Knight (bracketed), 5-5 Carfcx, 8-8 King March, 7-8 Psychologist. Kiltowyn and Psychologist showed up early at the start, and along the top'the positions \Vere Psychologist, Kiltowyn, Shatter, Speedmint, Prolyxo and King March. Psychologist still led into the straight from. Shatter, Kiltowyn, Speedmint, Master Norval and King March. Kiltowyn finished resolutely three lengths ahead of Shatter, with Speedmint two lengths away third. Kiltowyn handled the heavy going well. Time, 2.9 4-5. Criterion Handicap: 7-S Sporting Blood (W. J. Broughton) 1.; 4-4 Gay Blonde (A. Tinker) 2; 2-1 Variant (L. •J. Ellis) 3; 11-11 Pound Sterling 4. The finish was exciting, with Sporting Blood just moving past Gay Blonde, who was half a head in front of Variant. Time, 1.3 2-5.

the straight being Puss Moth, Lack, Lucidus and Boughal. Copyist appeared from well back to win by two lengths from Boughal. Greek Gold was three-quarters of a. length away, third. Time, 1.15 2-5.

Plunket Handicap: 4-4 Epigram (Voitre) 1; 1-1 Southdown, carried 7.101 (L. J. Ellis) 2; 7-7 Woodfull, carried 7.101 (Keesing) 3; 6-6 Jalldy Karo 4. Also ran: 3-3 Sunny Sky, 5-5 King’s Archer, 2-2 Seafox, 8-8 Whakapara. Epigram, Seafox and Woodful led across the top. Woodful had fallen back to fifth at the distance, but came up fast to finish third behind Epigram and Southdown. The winner sustained a determined challenge from Southdown to the post.
