On hoard the next outward-bound mail steamer, the Orama, to arrive in Sydney on December 21, is a charming young honeymoon couple, whose wedding in London this week was one of the great social events of the Little Season. From the Princess the young couple received the gift ol a bridge table; and the choice ol the Princess Royal and Lord Hare wood was also a bridge table—a folding mahogany one. For her wedding at the fashionable St. Margaret’s, Westminster, the bride chose a simple gown of white luminous satin, the long-sleeved bodice having a rounded neckline with a roll collar. A squave-eut train of the same satin was draped from the shoulder, and her white tulle veil was held in place hy a wreath of myrtle leaves and orange blossom. WONDERFUL PRESENTS The reception, held afterwards at Hyde Park Gardens (the house lent by the Earl and Countess of Plymouth), was attended by many prominent society folk, including the young Countess oi Jersey. Many beautiful gifts were received, that of the bride's father being a wonderful rope of pearls with jewelled tassels, a diamond soutoir, pearl ana diamond earrings, a diamond brooch and pendant, and combs set with jewels. These formerly belonged lo her inotliei, the late Mrs. Guv Charteris. Another pair of lovely earrings, the gift of Lady Cynthia Asquith, illustrated the new vogue of combining jet with diamonds. Rubies and diamonds in drop design form yet another pair, given bv Lird and Lady Plymouth. Lady O’Neill, the bride's sister, who (like Lady Long) became engaged almost as soon as she came out, chose a practical present. It is a complete, set u golf clubs of the latest design, and will accompany its proud owner wherever she goes, for she is an excellent, golhu.
