AUSTRALIAN HOLDINGS COMPANY RECEIVES SHOCK LONDON, Dee. 21. Lord Luke, presiding at the meeting of shareholders of Bovril Australian Estates, recalled the shock sustained by (he Federal Government’s nothreation In June, that a quarter of the area of the Victoria River Downs Station would be resumed. lie added that the blocks resumed were to be cut off as with a ruler, excising a number of the company’s wells, and necessitating many miles of refencing. Although these blocks were important to the company, he doubted 'whether good pastoralists could make much from them by themselves, though some of a less desirable element might be glad to take up the area with an efficient, branding plant within easy reach of the company’s cattle nursery. Mr J. O. Inglis, presiding at the ■Scottish Australian •Company’s meeting, prophesied a good wool clip and a prosperous season, except possibly on Riverina holdings. Ho paid a tribute to Australia’s recovery.
