The Marylebono cricketers in the first lost five for 181 and declared, Barnett making 94. British in India and A*ssam in the first lost eight for 121 L Marriott taking live for 55. The match, which was limited to one day, was drawn. LARWOOD’S INJURY PROSPECTS OF RECOVERY LONDON, Dec. 20. Dr. Hogarth, the surgeon who has been attending Harold Larwood, made the following comment on the fast bowler’s foot injury:— “I think it is quite possible that Larwood will be able to bowl in the tests in 1934, but it is rather early to say anything definite. _ I ani quite satisfied with his condition. . Ho is getting on nicely, and there is every hope of a good recovery from his operation.” . “My foot seems to be improving, said Larwood, “and I can now walk without discomfort, but, of course, bowling is n very diltcrent mutter. X shall be pleased to meet the Australians again if 1 have fully recovered and am able to bowl.” ✓ Old cricketers wonder, i.\ view of the operation, whether the Aoot will be able to stand the intense pounding on the crease at the moniont of delivery which Larwood’s action entails.
