BOXING DAY RINKS A very enjoy able onerday rinks tournament was hold oil the Poverty Bay Bowling Club’s green 011 Boxing Day, The green was in very fine order, though the high wind militated somewhat against the play. Forty players, making up 10 teams, took part, and the teams included several players of the Gisborne club. The winning team comprised .the following:—J. Kay (lead), J. Buzza (2), F. Gardner (3), Bennett. (s), each of whom received a miniature cup. Bennett’s and €. Blackburn’s teams each had four wins at the end of the fourth round, and met hr the fifth, in, which Blackburn’s team was defeated. The rounds resulted as follow: First round. —Wilson beat Cameron; Hopkinson beat Holmes; Bennett beat W. A. 'Smith; Murray beat Hartley; Blackburn beat D. G. Robertson. Second round. —llolmos beat Wilson; Bennett beat Hopkinson; Hartley beat Smith; Robertson beat Murray; Blackburn beat Cameron.
Third round. —Bennett beat Wilson; Hartley beat Hopkinson; Robertson beat .Smith; Cameron boat Murray; Blackburn beat I-lolmes.
Fourth round. —Blackburn heat Wilson; Hopkinson beat Cameron; Holmes beat Robertson; Bennett beat Hartley; Murray beat Smith. ! ■ • Fifth round. — Bennett heat Blackburn; Murray beat Smith; Wilson heat Hopkinson; Cameron beat Holmes; Hartley beat Robertson.
