DIPLOMATIC SERVICE

SOUTH AFRICAN POLICY

CAPETOWN, Nov. 18,

There are various indications that Jn a few years South Africa will possess its own permanent diplomatic service. •The Union has not had time, of course, to .establish a professional diplomatic corps so far, but young men aro now trained in tiie legations already established, and these will iu time form the body from which South Africa’s representatives overseas will be chosen. The establishment of a diplomatic corps is regarded as very desirable by those who, know the difficulties and value of diplomatic positions in other countries.
