Two Interesting Books

It takes in its wide range the years 1875-11 L-, and it is interesting to have Queen Victoria’s Jubilee, the Gordon tragedy, Mefekiug night, the general strike m Britain all brought in with the famous folk associated with them introduced, too as a natural part of the “Berries” recital, for the family at many points were in contact with men and affairs. It is not necessary to detail the romance —if the ordeal ol hot bHeau be thus described—of “Vanessa,’ hut there will be many who will think that she is the most convincing ol the heroines that in the four volumes have dominated Mr. Walpole's story, while “Bougie,” the Berries ne’er-do-well, is portrayed with a masterly touch.
