GRADING OF PIGS

ENFORCING REGULATIONS (Per Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., this day. It is likely that strong representations will be made to the Government in the near future to have enforced the already gazetted regulations providing for the grading of pigs under the supervision of Government officers. At a meeting of the MnnawatuOroua branch of tho Now Zealand Pig Breeders’ Association representatives of curers’ interests were present, and a full and frank discussion of the whole question of grading took place. A resolution was passed as a result of which it is hoped that far-reaching modifications of the present lax enforcement of the regulations shortly will be brought about. The move is the outcome of widespread discontent that has been prevalent among farmers in Manawntu at the grading of their stock.
