POVERTY BAY CLUB Four games of the Club Fours were played on Thursday on the Poverty Bay Club’s green, with the following results: Brown, Ludwig, Fischbach, Sim (s) 26 v. Greig, Derbyshire, Clare, Phillips (s) 17. Briant, Rusher, Wood, Wilson (si 17 v. W. Hankcy, Daniel, Whiting, MeKcague (s) 18. Toneycliffe, Robinson, Ross, Gardner (s) 22 v. Rowley, Fraser, Graham, Falconer (s) 24. Bayliss, Green, Alexander, Hartley (s) 19 v. Arisell, Maddock, Scott, Wyatt (s) LB. On Boxing Day a rinks tournament will he run on similar lines to that held in Labor Dav. Entries close at. 8 a.m. on the day of play, and a good turn-out of players is expected. GISBORNE CLUB Fours competitions were continued at the Gisborne Bowling Club’s greens yesterday afternoon, a large number of substitutes having to be arranged for. Maude 36 beat Sinclair 11, and Holmes 29 beat Stephenson 12. The only close game was that between Robertson 25 and Armstrong 22. Mesd,nines F. Williams and R, J. Clark supervised the afternoon tea arrangements. Arrangements have been made for Boxing Day tournaments.
