RECOVERY IN BRITAIN MR. THOMAS OPTIMISTIC (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn ) (Received December 8, noon.) LONDON, Dec. 7. During a dinner given by Messrs. R. A. Lister and Company, of Dursley, the managing director, Mr. Percy Lister, who is now en route to Australia and New Zealand, telephoned greetings to the assembly from Chicago, the message being received at the table by Mr. J. H. Thomas, who declared that Britain could claim that the worst was definitely over, and that we were now on the certain road to recovery.
