DYNAMITE FUMES DEATH AFTER RESCUE (Received Dec. 7. noon) PERTH, Dec. 7. Two miners, Kenneth McLaren, 24, and Albert Cole, 26, were asphyxiated by dynamite fumes at the Phoenix mines at Norsemen. After a charge had fired, Cole descended, and when no signal was received, McLaren volunteered to investigate. lie found Cole in a state of collapse, but before lie could rescue him was liimself overcome. The two men were brought to the surface, but died soon after.
