It is announced that the Colonial Mutual Life Assurance Society has approved of tile expenditure oi £IOO,OOO approximately for the erection of new premises on the site of the present premises in Wellington. The society is receiving a subsidy from the Unemployment Board. It is stated that as far as possible New Zealand materials will be used. The designs are by Messrs. Hennessy and Company, of Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne, in association with Messrs. Swan, Lawrence, and Swan, of Wellington, and the contractors are the Lewis Construction, Limited, with a registered office in Wellington.
