SHEEN SHIELD MATCH RUATORIA MEET WAIPIRO (Herald Correspondent.) A Sheen Shield competition match was played at Euatoria between Ruatoria United Cricket Club and Waipiro Bay Cricket Club. Owing to the late start, no decision was reached on the first innings and therefore both teams take .me point each. Ruatoria batted first and but for the splendid innings of 65 by G. E. Cotterill would have fared very badly, as he was .lie only batsman to each double figures, ‘Mr. Extras” being the next highest scorer, in an innings of 117. When time was called, Waipiro had mustered 101 for eight wickets, and if the game had been played out, some exciting cricket should have been seen. J. Ludbrook, 32, was the top scorer, and other batsmen reaching double figures were N. Cottle, 13, C. Nurse, 12, and M. Gilmore, 12. Runs were evidently hard to get as the bowling analysis will show.
