BYRD EXPEDITION

MAY NOT GO TO DUNEDIN

in a radio message to Messrs. If. L. Tapley and Company, Dunedin agents for the Byrd expedition, BearAdmiral Byrd has stated that there is a possibility of the Antarctic expedition ships, Jacob Buppert and Bear of Oakland, being unable to call at Dunedin before leaving New Zealand for the ice barrier.

It. is explained by Boar-Admiral Byrd that Ibis is because of the necessity for the ships to call at Wellington and is also partly due to the delay that has occurred on the voyage from America. The Jacob Buppert is expected to reach Wellington on December 3. The Bear of Oakland has 'passed through the Panama'Canal, and is making the. best possible speed to New Zealand.
