(Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. Early this morning a fife brope out in the Defence Department's central battery at St. lvilda, a large two-storey building used as a storeroom and training quarters being gutted, arid a large quantity of including rifles, army stores, and saddlery, the. value of which is not ascertainable, completely destroyed. • A caretaker’s residence and stables adjoining were saved by the brigade. The insurances are not available.
