YOUTH DROWNED

CAPSIZE WHILE FISHING (Per Press Association.) OAMARU, this day. Owen Douglas Banks, .17, whose parents reside in Auckland, was found drowned in Lake Ohau on Tuesday morning. The deceased went fishing in an open boat at 7.30 o’clock on Monday night, and when he did not return, Mr. Win. Fraser, with whom he shared a hut on Mr. A. McKinnon’s property, Knrow, informed Mr. McKinnon. The latter and neighbors searched all night and found the gear. Next morning they obtained a boat and found the body and the boat overturned. . , It is thought that the boat capsized while the boy was engaged in fishing. An inquest was held at Mr. McKinnon ’s house yesterday before Mr. Appleby, J.P., and a jury of four, a verdict of drowned accidentally being returned.
