SEQUEL TO EXPLOSION

MAN BEFORE COURT (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. As a result of two hoys playing with gelignite, and one losing a finger in an explosion, the father of one of the hoys, Robert Maben Currie, was charged with being in possession, on October 10, of three plugs of gelignite and three detonators without lawful purpose. The defendant pleaded guilty. As the police did not press for a penalty, lie was convicted and discharged. The defendant said he had been on contract work in the country. Some explosives were left over, and lie brought them home for safety. His son found them during his absence.
