OCTOBER’S RAINFALL ONLY EIGHT WET DAYS f ' Although the aggregate rainfall last month was the heaviest since October, 1029, it was considerably below the average for the month. The total fall was 2.25 in., compared with an average for 55 years of 2.69 in. Rain fell on only eight days* during the ; month, this record having been exceeded only twice in the 12 preceding years. The total for the first 10 months of the year was 40.04 in., or seven points more than during the corrc.spouding'period of last year, but nearly IGin. more than during the same months of 1931. The total rainfall for the 10 months from January 1 ty October 31 amounted to 39.65 in., and was up to the average.
