A procession of 20 speed-boats bedecked with flags was a feature of the Wanganui Motor-Boat and Sailing Club's opening of the 1933-34 season on .Saturday. Crowds lined the liver-bank to watch the speed-boat races. Thirty-seven years ago Mr. A. Harris, member of Parliament for Waiteinata, landed from the old sailer Bangitiki at the Inner Harbor, Port Ahuriri. Mr. Harris was included in the number of Parliamentary representatives who visited Port Ahuriri on Sunday, and be spoke about the appearanco of the port in those days. He recollected the Rangitild beating into the bay on the first Sunday of January, 1896, his Landing, and the condition of Hawke’s Bay at that time,
