CUSTOMS REVENUE

FIGURES FOR GISBORNE Although during the month ended yesterday, as compared with October, 1932, there' was a decrease in customs duty collected at the port of Gisborne, a substantial increase in beer duty more than compensated for this loss in customs revenue. Customs duty for the month totalled £1949 15s 4d. as compared with £2179 Is 5d in October, 1932, and beer duty totalled £938 Is lOd, as against £517 10s. Revenue derived from tiie sales tax during the month amounted to £955 8s 2d.
