SEPTEMBER WEATHER
COUNTRY REPORTS (Herald Correspond out.) The rainfall recorded at the I’attiialii Government weather station for Seplember was 2.69 in., rain falling on 13 days, the mximnm being on the fourth, 94pts. The cold southerly rains experienced at intervals during the month considerably retarded spring growth, with tlie result that green feed is no! as abundant as at the end of September last year. Two severe frosts had a deleterious el'feel upon early potato crops. The total rainfall at Rakauroa tor September was (].25in., which fell on 18 days, the heaviest fall being 2.57 in. in a “eloiidl.niist ' on September 13. The wind-miles totalled 127. The month on the whole has been wet and unset I led and consequent on the lack of sunshine there had been only a moderate growth in pastures. However, stock are in fairly good condition. ’lhe cold snap lasi week brought a touch of snow to the higher levels.
