PRELIMINARY E VENTS
The following preliminary events in connection with the Gisborne High School sports were run off to-day. Senior mile: A. Cousins (scr.), 1; A. Young (scr.), 2; C. Fiavell (50yds), 3. Time, 4min. 51sec. A good race between first and second, but 1 2-ssec. slower than the school record. Championship points: Cousins 3, l'oung 2, and Ross 1. Junior Mile: .14. Bell (80yds.), 1; (5. Lewis (90yds.), 2; T. Sinclair (60yds.), 3. This race was rather slow, the time being 6min. 3 4-ssec. Championship points: L. Kermode 3, AL Stevens 2, and Iv Wyllie 1. The 880yds. event will he run off tomorrow.
