BABY'S DEATH
TBODpEN ON BY Pitt A pig was the cause of the death, under unusugl circumstances, of a Maori chi]<| at Whangaroa. The baby, which was 12 months old and had been put to bed on the ooor of its home. In the temporary absence pf the child’s pipther, a pig wandpreij into the hpuse aipd trod on the baby, injuring lt§ head and chest. The child was taken to the Whangaroa Hospital, where it died from shock! At an inquest held subsequently, the coroner returned a verdict accordingly. The parents of the child were Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Foster.
