MEETING OF ASSOCIATION DOMINION REPORT RECEIVED The monthly meeting of the South African Veterans’ Association was held last Saturday evening, a full attendance of members being 'present, over which the president, Veteran G. Crawshaw, presided. Correspondence from Dominion headquarters was dealt with. The annual report and balance-sheet were also to hand, dealing with the period ended July 31, 1933. The number of exmerifbers of. the contingents in receipt, of the South African war pension (Section 43 of the Pensions Act, 102(5) up to March 31 last is 39. The number receiving pensions for disabilities contracted in the South African War is 43, one of whom resides overseas. A. Simsou, Hastings, passed away after a long illness. The late gentleman was the first Dominion president and gold badge member. Information was received that the annual conference would be held in Wellington on Wednesday, October 11, in the association’s rooms, 29 Hunter street. The question of sending a delegate was raised, and after considerable discussion it was decided not to send one from the local branch owing to the cost involved. Instead, Lieut.-Colone.l D. C.
