BLUE STAR LINE
SHIPS FOR AUSTRALIAN RUN LONDON, Sept, IS. YestPy’s are going ahead with plans for entering the Australian shipping trade with the Blue Star line and are 'placing orders immediately lor two new motor-ships, embodying all the latest constructional ideas. These vessels will he Jo,ooo tons; they will have a working speed of 17 knots,,and will probably be tlit 1 largest in the refrigerated trade. It is hoped that tin 1 ships will be ready .for servicein October nexl.
In conjunction with other ships of the line, they will trade regularly with Australia and New Zealand.
'The new motor-ships are to be fitted with tlie latest facilities to ensure dependable carriage of ( hilled beef, and their speed should enable them to maintain a fast time-table, thus putting the chilled beef business on a practicable basis.
h ii felt by the Blue Slur line that in building such big vessels ’at the present time welcome relief will be given In the unemployment in British shipyards, and that the movement in favor of inter-Empire trade will be encouraged.
