Langstone (Lab., Waimarino) asked whether in view of tho unemployment fund’s accumulated surplus, more liberal payment could not be made. He said that the revenue for June-September had been £2,607,904, and the expenditure £1,824,575, leaving an unexpended balance of £783,329, while for the corresponding period last year the revenue had been £1,917,886, and the expenditure £1,427,220, with an unexpended balance of £490,666. Tho Hon. A. Hamilton, said lie intended to make a statement regarding the board’s finances in the course of the next few days. _______
