COST OF VISIT In a statement of the expenses connected with the visit to Napier, tintotal cost, was shown as £3.1 10s, its compared with an outlay of £(10 when the Poverty Bay team last visited Napier. It .was reported that tinplayers each contributed 10s to tincost of the journey. The statement of the manager regarding the conduct of the Poverty Bay team in Napier was supported by' Mr. 11. L. McNeil, who mentioned that the licensee at the hotel where the players stayed had considered the. Poverty' Bay tea the bost-comlmcted group of players lie had ever entertained.

The management committee expressed its satisfaction with the performance of the team, and accorded votes of thanks to Messrs E. T. Bros nahan and E. Jeffries, manager and coach, and to the Hawke’s Bay- Rugby Union for its, hospitality' to the team. It was decided also to forward congratulations to the southern union on the improvement shown in the Magpie team, and to express good wishes in connection with Saturday’s game between Hawke’s Bay and Wellington. Mr. Brosmihan also mentioned, the excellent display given by the Maris! thirds, in tlu-ir match at Napier with the Hastings Celts, ami the club was tendered the congratulations of the management committee on the success of its team in tlu- Napier engagement.

Apart from the discussion of last week’s representative game, there was little business before the meeting, which was unusually brief.

Tn con unction with the Premier Cup, it was mentioned that only three teams remained in the competition, these being 11.5.0.8., Celtic, - and Old Boys. The game for next Saturday was balloted for, Celtic being drawn against Old Boys, and H. 5.0.8. having the bye. The Old Boys’ club was given permission to send a mixed junior and thirdgrade team to To Karaku to play tho To Karakx juniors. Those present at lasi night’s meeting comprised Messrs. G. 11. Scouts, chairman; E. T. Brosnahan, -J. M. Primrose, P. C. Edmondson, O. S. Burt, G. J. Jetine, and "W. S McKee, lion, secretary.
