OBITUARY
DR. M. O’REILLY SYDNEY, Sept. 25. The death is announced ol Dr. Maurice O’Reilly, rector of St. John's Roman Catholic College, withm the University of Sydney; aged 66 years. JUSTICE W. E. RANEY TORONTO, Sept. 24. Mr. Justice W. E. Raney, ot the Supreme Court of Ontario, former At-torney-General, died to-day, aged 74 years. MRS. JAMES MURRAY The death occurred at Auckland this morning of Mrs. Alary .Murray, wife of Mr. James Murray, oi Waipaoa, a wellknown resident oi the district. Airs. Alurray had been ailing for the past three months, and recently went to Auckland to undergo an operation, the operation being in vain, however. The deceased was 52 years oi age, and had been resident in the \\ aipaoa district for the better part of 26 years. Bom in England, Airs. Alurray was married there,'’ and came to New Zealand with her husband in 1908, settling almost immediately in Poverty Bay. Latterly they had' had a farm at Waipaoa, where the kindly personality of the deceased had won wide recognition. Mrs. Murray is survived by her husband and three children, Messrs. William Murray and James Alurray, ot Waipukurau and Auckland respectively, and Miss Elizabeth Alurray, of Waipaoa. Much sympathy will be extended to the family in its sad bereavement. The late Mrs. W. Crawford, who died in Huntorville recently was understood to be the second white child born in Wellington. She was 92 years of age. Her parents, the late Air. and Mrs. Dugald AleLaughlan, arrived in Wellington from Scotland in 1840.
