Trade was showing many hopeful signs, and British currency had earned the confidence and respect of the world. There had also been a fall in unemployment of nearly 500.000 since the beginning of the year. Air. MacDonald said the Government was working to. increase the world consumption, and to secure, by various means, a proper share for Rritain of that increase.
