SHEEPSTEALING ALLEGED

REMAND TO HASTINGS A young man. Thornley William Caleott. charged with sheepstealing, appeared before Mr. E. L. Walton, S.M., in the Police Court this morning, and was remanded to appear at Hastings on September 29. The accused had been arrested earlier in the month’ at Hastings, where he was remanded until today. The charge was of stealing at Tikokino. on July 25, 44 sheep valued at £44, tlie property of John Butler. In applying for tlie mPuid this morning. acting Detective k Tvihg mentioned that the accused was on bail, and tbe police had no objection to its'renewal. The accused was admitted to bail on the same terms as before.
