ALCOHOL FROM WHEAT I A CANADIAN REPORT (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Received Sept. 26, 2 p.m.) CALGARY, Sept. 25. A plant to produce industrial alcohol from surplus wheat would be a doubtful business proposition, states Professor JH. Shipley, of the University of Alberta, in a report to the Calgary Trade Board In Europe, Professor Shipley states, the manufacture of ethyl alcohol from farm products cannot compete with the use of gasoline as fuel, duo to the relatively high price of these products for food purposes. Whenever alcohol is used in Europe as fuel it has Government aid.
