SEDUCTION ALLEGED

CASE AGAINST PREMIER SENSATION IN ALBERTA EDMONTON (Alberta), Sept. 22. A statement of claim has been filed in the Supreme Court of Alberta asking for unstated damages from Mr, J. E. Brownlee, Premier of Alberta, for alleged seduction of Vivian MacMillan, a daughter of the former Mayor, Mr. Allan MacMillan, of Edson, Alberta. The offences are alleged .to have commenced in 1930, when the girl is said to have been 18 years old. Mr. Brownlee, over a long-distance ’phone from Ottawa, where he is attending as a member of the Canadian Royal Commission on Banking, said that, while one regrets having to face a case of this kind, it will enable him to como to grips with rumors that have been spread for some weeks. There was not a word of truth in the allegations.
