FARM LABOR
(To the Editor of tfie Herald.) Sir, —I bow my head in humble acknowledgment to “Share Milker.” That he should call me a wizard ot finance shows rare sagacity in one so short-sighted in other directions. 1 am glad to see that “Share Milker’ does not pay his man off during the winter; that does- him credit, but his goodness, even to himself, apparently ceases there, for still he can’t get a helper. Regarding his adv|ice, to wit, that I should snow the outcome of my wizardry to Mr. Forbes, I would point out, that so far as, I know, Mr. Forbes does not want a farm hand, and if any farmers happen to read “Share Milker’s’’ letter of the- 14th about subsi. disod labor not being allowed in the cowshed, I am sure they will be highly amused. I was. We all know subsidised labor is not allowed in the cow. shed, we also Know . If “Share Milker” had troubled to interpret mv letter correctly, he would have seen that 1 was expounding the theory of give and taka, with a little more give on the faimof;’s part. I asked “Share Milker” if Fe would give his man a day off, and ho says (1 quote verbatim) “certainly liot.” The only good point in his answer is its brevity. I frankly admit that; I cannot understand the mental peregrinations of “Share Milker” when tliey lead him to say that tie would gladly work all his life for no returns, anci feel amply repaid at the price, and lean only come to one conclusion, and'.; that is, that he is the subject of a Wild flight of a fevered imagination.— Yours, etc.. FARM HAND.
