FLIGHT TO AUSTRALIA
“SMITHY’S” PLANS (Received Sept. 15, 2.30 p.m.) AMSTERDAM, Sept. 14. Sir Charles Kingsford Smith will arrive, by air from Budapest, and after testing a sports type of aeroplane with a speed of 138 miles an hour goes to London to commence a solo flight to Australia. He is not seeking to lower the record, but hopes to conclude the journey in 14 days.
