Mr. ( Tange, to a deputation seeking substantial relief from rating. The commissioner could promise no immediate, relief. lie said deputations were not only inelfective. hut harmful, and deprecated the undue publicity, which he considered was inclined grossly to exaggerate the position. Samuel, M.P.. to he present, and to pass a resolution to lie presented to the Cabinet- seeking relit'!', which il is considered the. Thames ’Borough Commissioner Act does not provide as promised.
