HOLD-UP AVERTED
POLICE FOIL PLOT ABOUT £2IOO INVOLVED SYDNEY, Sept. 10. A skilfully arranged plot to hold up the car of officers paving unemployed relief workers in the Randwick district was foiled by the police, who provided strong escorts at several points. The would-be robbers were evidently alarmed, and the payments were made without event. About £2IOO was involved.
A decoy car was used, but presumably the plotters had been warned.
