AERO CLUB FINANCES
NEED FOR ASSISTANCE WELLINGTON’S POSITION (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. “Excluding two tragic crashes which occurred during the year, the club’s operations have resulted in a loss of £97 10s, after having written off £583 for depreciation of plant and equipment,” states the annual report of the Wellington Aero Club. “Adding the direct cost of crashes, the total loss for the year was £947 10s.” The report adds that these figures indicate clearly the impossibility of aero clubs carrying on without the adequate Government assistance which the clubs have every right to expect in view of the promises made by the Government when the clubs were in process of formation.
