FUSION OF PARTIES

OPPOSITION IN IRELAND GENERAL O’DUFFY LEADER LONDON, Aug. 29. General O’Duffy has returned to Dublin in connection with a movement towards the federation of all opposition parties under his leadership. The Daily Telegraph's correspondent loams definitely that all obstacles to fusion are now removed, but official announcements are not expected for awhile. The Cosgravo party will lose its distinctive but clumsy Irish title, and join forces with the Centre Party and the National Guard, under the title of the National Party, all accepting General O'Duffy’s leadership. It is .expected that the Independents and others will join, thus presenting a united front, whose great aim is to secure reconciliation with England before the havoc of. the economic war is irretrievable.
