STEAMER PURCHASED
N.Z.-AUSTRALIAN TRADE (Fw Free* Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Sydney shipping firm of 11. C. Sleigh has purchased the Norwegian steamer Nord for the purpose of engaging in trade between Australia and New Zealand. , •_ The Nord, a vessel of 2042 tons, is at present en route from Europe to Melbourne with a cargo of Baltic timber, and on completion of discharge in Australia she will be transferred to the intercolonial cargo service. The Nord : which will be renamed Abel Tasman, was formerly known as the Mont Blanc, gad was built at Ambacht, Holland, jn 1916.
