P.B. ASSOCIATION CHARITY CUP MATCH The weekly meeting of the executive of the Poverty Bay Football Association was held on Monday evening, Mr. J. J. Macdonald presiding over the following members Messrs. J. McLean, J. Easton, J. Miller, W. H. Simmonds, J. Watt, 'J. Jennings, F. Hair, and H. 'lreland, hon. secretary. The secretary was instructed to write to the chairman of the Hockey Association, Mr. P. Sim, thanking him for tiie assistance rendered to the executive in arranging hockey matches in conjunction with the Auckland-Poverty Bay school games, which would offer an extra attraction. Competition games will be continued in both grades on Saturday next, the draw resulting:—Senior competition :Te Hapara v. Whataupoko, No. 1 ground, referee, Mr. W. Bury; Mangapapa v. City, No. 2 ground, referee, Mr. J. Miller ; matches will commence at 2.4 b 6m. School Competition: Kaiti v. Te apara, No. 1 ground, referee, Mr. Miller; Gisborne v. Mangapapa, No. 2 ground, referee, Mr. Mohan; . the matches will commence at 1.15 p.m. On the motion of Mr. Macdonald, it was decided that a Married versus Single men’s match will be ‘ played on Saturday week, September 9, teams for this game to be selected next Monday. It was also decided to play the annual charity match, England versus Scotland, on Saturday, September 16, arrangements to be made with the Hockey Association.
