There were two interesting demonstrations, one 'on papier muchc work ,by Mrs. Nelson, who displayed some ' beautiful specimens of her work, and the second, on pine-needle basketmaking by Mrs. Bullard, who presented » very fine sample of 'her work. For the monthly competition, “best article hoik a flour bag,” there were very few entries, and the first prize went to Mrs. Bmft'fdr beautifully worked pillow riwas, Mm Hickey hod Mrs,. Smyth tying for second place with a pram cover and a child’s dress respectively. Mrs. Thornton was third with child’s rompers. Th® hostesses were Mesdames Akers, Fry, McKinnon, Openshaw and T. Williams; who served a- delicious tea. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mrs Ballad and Mrs. Nelson for their de-

monstrations, to Mrs. Burton for the use of the room, and to the hostesses for the tea; The National Anthem brought a very pleasant afternoon to a close. .
