SALES AT WESTFIELD ALL PRICES DECLINE (Par Press Association.) AUCKLAND, last night. There was a larger yarding of beef at Westfield, about 800 head. In spite of the steady demand, values were easier by about Is per 1001 b. Extra choice ox beef sold to 20s per 1001 b.; choice and prime ox, 16s to IDs; secondary and plain ox, 14s to los; prime young cow and heifer beef, Ids to 17s; ordinary cow, 10s to 14s. Extra heavy prime steers ranged from £8 10s to £8 Ids; heavy prime, £7 ,17s 6d to £8 2s Gd; lighter 'prime. £6 10s to £7 12s 6d; light prime, £d 5s to £6 7s 6d; small and unfinished, £3 12s Cd to £d; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £4 los to £5; heavy 'prime, £4 7s 6d to £4 12s 6d; lighter prime, £4 to £4 ss; other killable cows, £1 15s to £3 17s (id.
Fat sheep were also penned in larger numbers. Prices were easier, wethers ■selling at 2s to 3s per head less than last week. Values for ewes were more stable, and hoggets sold at late rates. Prime wethors made 22s to 26s 9d; light and unfinished, 19s to 21s fid; prime ewes, lfis to 24s 9d; other owes, 17s 'to 18s fid; prime hoggets, 17s to 21s. 9d; unfinished, 14s 3d to 15s. 'Calves came forward in larger numbers, and the high prices established last week, when numbers were short, were not maintained. Extra prime quality sold at late rates, but values generally were easier, especially for light-weight calves. Runners made 30s to 81s; vealers, 20s to 70s. A short yarding of pigs sold readily at higher values. Baconers made 38s to 595; porkers, 25s to 375.
